Snow devils

Cyrus is doing this every time I walk him in the snow now—making what should look like snow angels—except he hasn't mastered the wing part. His legs just don't work like our arms. :) So I am calling them snow devils because he looks like quite the devil with those wolf teeth of his.

The other snow devil around here is that bobcat. He (or she) has much bigger and sharper teeth than my wolfie dog. We discovered what appear to be bobcat tracks in the snow out near the chicken fence on Saturday, and a dead pigeon in the same area.

Even though Cyrus is the killer dog, Woody is the one who is the real hunter. Nose to the ground he follows every track in the snow. It makes no difference to him if it is a mouse, deer, or bobcat, he just wants to find it.

I am thankful he has found nothing other than the dead chicken and the dead pigeon thus far. I don't ever want to see that bobcat up close and personal ever again...

And I am still praying that our meager attempt at a fence will protect those poor chickens.
